چکیده

Abstract Petroleum pitch‐based graphite blocks (GBs) attract considerable attention owing to their low cost, high yield, and possible application as heat sink components. However, no studies have systematically investigated the particle size distribution of GBs, structures, relationship between structures thermal properties resulting from graphitization. Hence, herein, we present a novel method for fabricating petroleum GBs using natural flakes (GFs) sizes ranging 50 500 μm bimodal distribution. Furthermore, effects mean GF size, pitch binder content, microstructure with contents on compression molding elevated hot‐pressing temperatures after graphitization are investigated. To investigate effect packing density μm, mix small‐sized (50 μm) content by kneading. In particular, specimens in in‐plane direction GFs 10 wt% yield optimum conductivity values 1.74 g m −3 384 Wm −1 K , respectively, high‐temperature at 2600°C. These findings provide insights developing high‐performance use components conductivity.

Effect of Particle Size Distribution and Chemical Composition on Properties of Magnesia Chromite Bricks

The present study was undertaken to improve the quality and increase the life time of magnesia-chromite refractory bricks used in the copper and lead industries. The results show that a decrease in the amount of large chromite particles in the formulation improves the thermomechanical properties and also reduces the slag penetration in the bricks. In addition it was also observed that the use o...

Extinction of ferromagnetism in highly ordered pyrolytic graphite by annealing

We report that the ferromagnetism of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) samples as measured by hysteretic magnetization loops can be diminished and eventually extinguished with sufficiently long high vacuum anneals at temperatures on the order of 2300 !C. Concomitant with the extinction of ferromagnetism, we observe an annealinduced increase in grain size (accompanied by possible edge rec...

Exfoliated graphite with relative dielectric constant reaching 360, obtained by exfoliation of acid-intercalated graphite flakes without subsequent removal of the residual acidity

Exfoliated graphite (obtained by rapid heating of sulfuric-acid intercalated and subsequently deacidified graphite flakes) is optionally subjected to residual acidity removal, which involves repeated washing with water, such that the pH of the wash water increases from 2 to 7. Compared to washed exfoliated graphite, the unwashed material exhibits lower specific surface area (24 vs. 45 m/g), a h...
